POSITION SUMMARY :
The Head Tennis Professional oversees Tennis and Pickleball operations to include staffing, maintenance and function of the Racquet Pavilions, courts, and equipment to ensure that they are clean, presentable, and operational at all times.
The Head Tennis Professional manages staff, effectively educates the membership on the nuances of all equipment and programming and encourages general membership participation.
This role is responsible for creating, monitoring, and adhering to an annual budget and preparing an annual operational plan.
The Head Tennis Professional collaborates with other department heads, is available and approachable, projecting a positive and hospitable attitude, with a hands-on management style, working closely with members and Ambassadors.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop a superior service attitude and presentation among tennis staff, with an understanding that positive interaction, a can do attitude and anticipating the needs of the members and their guests is a guiding philosophy.
Manage the operational requirements of the Tennis Pavilion and courts including scheduling of operating hours, court reservations, court maintenance and upkeep, manage fellow tennis Ambassadors, equipment upkeep and maintenance, site cleanliness and tennis accessories.
Assist the Head Pickleball Professional in all scheduling, marketing, and billing needs.
Develop, direct, and establish a set of programs for the membership that include youth camps and clinics, adult clinics, social mixers, and team events, working to create widespread member interaction through coordination of games and matching players of similar abilities together in social and competitive play to add to their club experience.
In a cooperative manner, work closely with the Family Barn staff, Golf staff and Concierge to organize events for the membershipAssist the Barn team in organized Combo camps that includes tennis instruction.
Contribute to a weekly events publication for member and Ambassador use and information, organized by the Concierge.
Hire, train, manage and motivate a small tennis pavilion staff to provide operational assistance, including Tennis Pavilion operations, court reservations, minimal merchandising and ordering of basic sundries, sales of sundries and inventory control, telephone and light court maintenanceStaff to be paid hourly, working successfully within the boundaries of the Ambassador Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual.
Hire and manage a team of tennis professionals for private lessons, camps, and clinics.
Ensure all tennis Ambassadors observe all Martis Camp standards as described in the Ambassador handbook to include personal grooming and attire.
Host a complimentary Saturday morning clinic and Saturday evening social mixer for members' benefit and enjoyment.
Provide tennis lessons, exhibitions, tennis competitions and possibly team events with other Clubs to the membership that meets the Clubs goals and culture and understanding of the private nature of the Club.
Help establish and work within an annual budget, with monthly variance review, assisted by the Club Controller, including five-year projections.
Ensure all activity is billed accurately and in a timely manner and that all payroll, invoices and related expenses are managed similarly effectively.
Utilize positive communication and leadership skills to create a cooperative working environment for all Ambassadors.
Present and conduct oneself with a high degree of professionalism and ethicsAlways demonstrate proper etiquette.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS :
Ability to interact and develop positive relationships within the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective listening, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteMaintain high ethical and moral standards.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and complete assignments within various time constraints.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES :
Must have a valid USPTA or PTR certification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tennis Professional.
Ability to teach players of all ages and skill levels.
Strong knowledge of tennis rules and techniques.
Ability to organize and run tournaments and events.
WAGE RANGE:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
